The Research and Evaluation Advisor, Technical Innovation and Excellence (REA), will participate in research implementation, with a focus on creating and overseeing electronic data systems, data analysis, technical writing and dissemination. 


• Supports design, implementation and analysis of Technical Innovation and Evidence team research and evaluation through preparation of study protocols, including IRB submission and review; preparation and maintenance of mobile data collection applications; data collector training materials; conducting data management and analysis; participating in interpretation of findings; preparation of internal and external dissemination materials
• Contributes to desk research and literature reviews
• Contributes to project conceptualization and preparation of concept notes and proposals for consideration by donors
• Works independently and takes increasing responsibility for scopes of work, as requested
• Provide mentoring on data analysis and interpretation to Technical Innovation and Evidence coordinator 
• Reports regularly and effectively to the Senior Researcher
• Other duties such as research project management and budget monitoring, as required


• Masters’ degree in social science or public health discipline
• 4+ years of work experience in research, monitoring and evaluation of global health programs, including use of statistical analysis computer packages (e.g., Stata, SPSS, SAS) for inferential statistics
• Work experience with mobile data collection applications (CommCare, SurveyCTO or others)
• Excellent written and verbal English language skills
• Well-organized with the ability to track multiple projects and deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and seek creative solutions to problems
• Strong commitment to the Ipas mission
• Ability to travel up to 15%

• International experience and/or experience working with multi-cultural teams
• Additional language skills for the areas where Ipas works
• Budget monitoring experience
